Nathan’s building for a big future in fabrication

Meet 1st year apprentice boiler maker Nathan Smith.

Nathan recently commenced his Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade after working as a labourer with Ingkerreke Commercial since 2016.

Metalwork is what Nathan enjoys, and he lists the horse stable construction project at Blatherskite Park among his most rewarding projects.

Blatherskite Park is home to many community groups and events in Alice Springs such as the Alice Springs Show, Camel Cup, Red CentreNats, Riding for the Disabled and Alice Springs Equestrian Management Group.

Nathan also really values the working relationship he has with other members of the Ingkerreke team.

“I really like working with a great group of fellas at Ingkerreke,” Nathan said.

“Some of them I went to school with, so we have been mates for years.”

It was back in school that Nathan found his trade, as he enjoyed constructing things with sheetmetal and found a love of working with hands. After completing Year 12, there was no doubt about which career path he would follow.

We are proud to have Nathan on the team and look forward to following his career progression as he works towards completing his apprenticeship.
